LIS 505 Archival and Manuscript Services The course provided a basic understanding of the acquisition, selection, assessment, description, and retension process of archives management

Autumn 2015 INFX 505 Project Management Basics For Information Professionals Using a web app called SmartSheets, students designed a timeline for a personal project and worked on a mock office move for a fictitious company; the class gave students an undestanding of project management software features and constraints to consider when planning
LIS 550 Info and Society Philosophy rich course that guided students in the subject matter of ethics, rights, privacy, and censorship
LIS 560 Instructional and Training Strategies For Information Professionals Students designed and developed an instructional course for an information user group of their choice using tools such as learning models and outcomes assessment rubrics
Winter 2016 INFX 580 Management of Information Organizations This course takes a business management approach to libraries and other information institutions
LIS 590 Directed Fieldwork The purpose of this course is to highlight learning outcomes of our internship
Spring 2016 LIS 526 Government Publications The course provided an introduction to government documents, how to find them, and how to use them for research
LIS 588 Special Librarianship Students learned about different special libraries via interesting recorded interviews, and discovered what it takes to stay valuable in a changing environment
Autumn 2016 LIS 531 Catalogs, Cataloging, and Classification Students gained knowledge in the principles of cataloging through descriptive cataloging and evaluating catalogs while keeping the user in mind
INFX 531 Metadata Design Using XML in Oxygen, students created schema and APs with metadata building blocks including design and implementation details
Winter 2017 INFX 595 Capstone I: Project Planning This is part 1 of a two-part course that is the Capstone graduation requirement for all iSchool programs; the first stage consists of working with the Capstone sponsor to develop a plan to execute our research or project
